SERVICE DESIGN
Faced with the situation generated by the CoVID-19 pandemic, there is a need to adapt buildings to minimize contagion and protect the health of users.
Aware of this need and of the relevant role played by building infrastructures, especially air conditioning and/or ventilation installations, euroLAB has designed a methodology aimed at evaluating control protocols in buildings to enable the issuance of COVID-SAFE certificates.
These certificates are aligned with the recommendations of the Spanish Federation of Indoor Air Quality and the Spanish Association of Environmental Health of which we are part.
The FEDECAI-COVID-SAFE certificate is an indication that the technical measures recommended by most industry bodies have been taken to help minimize infections. However, it is important to emphasize that no technology or protocol can guarantee the total absence of contagion, but it can help to minimize its spread.
VERIFICATION OF PROTOCOLS FOR CLEANING AND DISINFECTION OF SURFACES
An initial diagnosis is carried out to identify their needs, such as high contact surfaces and the viricide products to be applied, which must be approved by the Ministry of Health. The modes of application, concentration, periodicity, contact time and cleaning records are established.
VERIFICATION OF AIR-CONDITIONING AND/OR VENTILATION SYSTEMS
Outside air and exhaust air flow rates are determined, outside air intakes, installation and condition of filters are checked and cleaning and disinfection protocols for Air Handling Units and Fan-Coils are reviewed in accordance with the UNE 100.012 standard.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY MEASUREMENTS
Measurements of CO2 and suspended particles are taken in accordance with the UNE 171330-2 standard to verify that there is proper ventilation inside the plant and that the filtration systems reduce the level of particles inside the plant compared to the level outside.
SPACE MANAGEMENT
It is verified that there are protocols for social distancing, access and capacity control, people movement flows, personal hygiene measures, availability of hydroalcoholic gel and masks, among others.
EXTRAORDINARY LABORATORY TESTS
We have at your disposal all the necessary and available tools such as surface analysis to determine CoVid-19 although it is advisable to reserve it for cases where it is really justified and not for this initial diagnosis.
